Allen
I feel a little guilty that the first picture of Allen on this website is still one of the first pictures of Allen (he was only a few days old when we took the picture of him in my hands). There are quite a few more recent pictures here.
I am sure like most parents, I find it hard to believe when he wanders in and wakes us up in the middle of the night to get a drink that it was not that long ago when he would wake us up from his room in the middle of the night . . ., well, I guess it is not that much of a stretch, but still he no longer sleeps in my hands.
Deciding on Allen's name was quite a task. We had hoped to find a family name that was common to both Korean and English. We then moved to trying to find any name (which we liked) that was in both languages. In the end, we picked names that simply were easy to pronounce in both languages. Fortunately, Allen, which has significance on both my father's and mother's side of the family, is easy to pronounce in Korean. Likewise, we liked Juno, which is easy for English speakers as well.
Allen has grown into a generally pleasant and usually amusing little boy (or big boy - if you ask him). He loves numbers (almost compulsively) and frequently amazes his mother with his sense of direction. His interests seem to switch weekly - currently building with Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys, or Legos and coloring are high on his list of to do's.
